What’s been happening?
For the past two years several churches from across the Baptist Union of Wales and beyond have met together over Zoom to participate in missional training with Cameron Roxburgh (Forge Canada).
Some churches and individuals have been doing the more intensive programme called Ethos over two years whilst others have been following the monthly Explore track sharing in conversation and discussion.
One thing that we’ve shared is a desire to see the church here in Wales grow in its confidence to join God in mission.

What’s next?
We plan to continue this missional journey through starting ‘Engage’ on 8th September 2022.
As the name suggests, ‘Engage’ is all about taking appropriate steps to see if what we’ve been learning together can help the church here in Wales to reach out beyond the church into our local communities with the love of God.
Here’s a brief overview of the programme:
When does Engage meet?
We plan to meet every second Thursday of the month, avoiding school holidays etc. Each session will start at 7.30 pm and finish promptly at 9.00 pm. Once you register for Engage you can use the same Zoom link for each session.
Will I have to do anything?
We recognise that our contexts are all different and that we move at a different pace. Some will need to take baby steps forward and others will want to run ahead! What is important is that we encourage each other to do what we can. Sometimes it helps just to have someone else who understands our context. A good community of practice offers appropriate encouragement to all.
Who can come?
Attendees for First Time: If you’ve not done any of the Ethos or Explore training this past two years, we would love to see you at ‘Engage’. You’d be very welcome and if we can help in any way to start this missional journey, we want to do so.
Explore and Ethos graduates: If you or your church has been involved with Ethos or Explore these past two years, we would strongly encourage you come along to Engage and take the opportunity to bring others with you. Maybe a small group from the church could come with you, maybe some of the Deacons, maybe this could be a midweek meeting for you? Whichever works best for you, the stronger the team the further you can go.
