Statement by the BUW Joint Council on Assisted Dying

The Joint Council of the Baptist Union of Wales calls on all BUW Churches to pray for the discussions currently taking place at Westminster in relation to the ‘Assisted Dying’ debate.

We recognise that this is a difficult and sensitive matter which will elicit very different responses from Christians throughout the country.

We appeal to our Churches to pray especially for our political representatives who will ultimately have to decide whether the right should be given to provide assisted dying or not. We pray that the Members of Parliament will listen carefully to all voices and that God will bless the debate with his wisdom and guidance.
